I wrote of my reasons in a statement / invitation that you can read on the website of the Waldensian Church , I just want to add half-serious reflections on the type of fight started.
I think that already the gospel, telling us that Jesus incontrò l'Avversario mentre digiunava, ci abbia avvertito che non esistono spazi sacri e pratiche buone per tutti i tempi, tutte le nostre azioni comportano sempre dei rischi...
Sgombrato il campo da entusiasmi "integristi", voglio però aggiungere che non è nemmeno il caso di fare polpettoni e le distinzioni sono necessarie. Sono felice di aver partecipato ieri a questa specie di "contro-parata". Anche noi mostriamo ciò di cui siamo capaci e le nostre armi. Non sono poco, ad esempio:
la credibilità di fronte a gente che ha perso la sua;
la pazienza di fronte a gente che persegue un risultato immediato;
la convinzione personale tanto strong enough to afford a comfortable comparison with those who disagree, in front of people chasing an easy consensus,
's antirazzism or who tries to help people understand that, faced with complex phenomena such as of new poverty simplifications should be rejected in front of people who use a language that dangerously associated terms such as "illegal", "Romanian", "Roma" to that of offenders
the ability to control your appetite against those who use the power so brazen for their own personal interests (think of a guy who insisted, "is a joke right? but what you earn?")
